It is easy to describe success in terms of money, fame and reputation.
But I believe that success is not external.
I believe that success comes from within.
My definition of success is to be true to yourself, and be true to others.
That means, that you must cherish your personal ideal even in the face of adversity.
I also believe that success is not discriminatory.
Success is not restricted to such a CLASS of people, in fact, it may be achieved by any person irrespective of his race, creed, gender and economic background.
A good example of success is that of Beethoven.
He is one of the worlds most famous composers, yet he was deaf.
He could not hear the majestic pieces of music that he created.
Yet, in the face of this adversity, he was able to maintain his ideals--that of composing music.
To exemplify what success means to me, I pose a question to all of you.
What brings us together here today? I believe that it is the beauty of the spoken word.
The effect of pause and the sound of rhetoric are unique to the spoken word.
I believe the beauty of the spoken word is even stronger for those who have difficulty in expressing themselves.
These people are reclusive and had their emotions hidden within them.
I once went to Australia and I saw two pictures, Once was drawn by a normal child, the other was drawn by a child with social inhibitions.
The picture drawn by the normal child was simple and plain.
The other was life-like, full of details and imagination.
What this shows is that these are ideas, emotions and feelings that are locked internally in these children.
My ideal is to be the key, spreading the beauty of the spoken words to these children.
These children have been neglected, but I feel that I can and should help these children to find themselves and be able to express themselves.
I realize that this is a difficult task, and there are many obstacles on the way.
But I believe in my ideals and I will stick to them--even in the face of adversity.
We should never have a premature abortion of ideals--let the child, let our ideals, stand the challenge.
For a life without ideals is not living.Thank you!
success and failure good morning. ladies and gentlemen. life has its ups and downs. i bet everyone here has gone through success and failures, am i righttherefore, whats your understanding.
Of success and failurewhat do you think is the biggest success in ones lifexxx, can you share your idea with us personally, i think success and failure are terms that dont necessarily call for a universal definition since all of us have our own definitions. that is to say, people can be successful in different areas such as in ones job and hobbies, living a successful private life, or running a successful relationship. assume that there are two men,one is wealthy and the other is needy. the wealthy one loves making money and is alwaysbusy with his work. he is satisfied with his business though he hardly has time tohave dinner with his wife and children. the needy one loves leisure. he has an easybut low-paid job so that he can have time to spend with his family.
in general, he could have delicious and warm dinner with his families every day. hes happy, too. which one do you think is more successful in his lifein my opinion, they are both successful because they both get what they want.another example
to support my statement. i think that everyone knows luo yufeng who is in america now. severals years ago, she was under the spotlight and attracted a strong criticism.it seemed that her life was utterly a failure since everyone was laughing at her.but, i think she is successful not because she’s famous but she wanted to immigrant to america and achieved.in many cases, whether we are successful or not is judged by others, actually, we should judge it by
thank you
sincerely!
A boy found an eagle's egg and he put it in the nest of a prairie chicken. The eagle hatched and thought he was a chicken. He grew up doing what prairie chicken do-scratching at the dirt for food and flying short distances with a noisy fluttering of wings. It was a dreary life. Gradually the eagle grew older and bitter. One day he and his prairie chicken friend saw a beautiful bird soaring on the currents of air, high above the mountains. "Oh, I wish I could fly like that!" said the eagle. The chicken replied, "Don't give it another thought. That's the mighty eagle, the king of all birds-you could never be like him!" And the eagle didn't give it another thought. He went on cackling and complaining about life. He died thinking he was a prairie chicken. My friends, you too were born an eagle. The Creator intended you to be an eagle, so don’t listen to the prairie chickens!
