as we all know, tomorrow is teachers’ day. many people say that teachers are not unusual at all. that’s true. but i want to say though teachers are common, their job is unusual. what they do is very very great. i am an english teacher. so i’ll make an english speech here. and my topic is “live with thankfulness”. do you know what “thankfulness” means in chinese? it means “gan’en”.
we know that in the world, we are not living alone. from the day we were born, there have been many people around us. they take care of us. they help us. they teach us. they play with us and grow up together with us. they support us. they understand us. the most important is: they love us. who are they? can you give me your answer?
yes, they are our parents, grandparents or family members; they may be your idmates, your friends even your neighbors. they are all important to us. we can’t live without them. we should thank them.
we should thank the great world. because it gives us sunlight, air, water and everything we need to keep us alive healthily. we can’t live without them.
we should thank our parents. they are the people who gave us the life. they look after us carefully and give all their love to us. i believe if necessary, they are willing to give everything to us. they stay with us, all the time.

我是三年级两个班的英语任课教师，也是三（1）班的班主任，我姓XX。在这个温馨的集体中，首先我想说两个感谢：
1、感谢家长在平时来学校了解学生学习英语的情况，感谢家长以电话、短信等方式和我联系、交流。
2、感谢家长在平时监督学生听录音、读课文，写单词并每天给孩子签字，谢谢你们的配合。要知道，您的一个会意的微笑，一个善意的建议，一句真心的鼓励，都会成为你们孩子前进的动力。
二、总结开学来的学习情况和考试情况。
开学来我们已进行了两次考试――第一次月考和期中考试，在期
中考试中三（1）班的考试结果比较理想，本班41人，优秀31人，其中90分以上21人。在座的绝大多数同学在这次考试中也展示了自己的实力，更有很多同学较平时取得了明显的进步。这和家长在家的监督和指导是分不开的。正是有了家长们尽心尽力的帮助，才能在此次考试中取得这么好的成绩！
三、介绍教材
首先介绍一下教材，三年级英语，是小学英语学习中一个重要的起步阶段。我相信现在很多家长都知道，小学里的英语教材和中学的英语教材完全是衔接的，而不是到了初中还会重新学习。如果现在的英语没有学好，那相对来说，将来初中学起来就比较累，甚至部分孩子的英语成绩从此就和大家拉开距离，再也补不上去……所以我们只有现在打好良好的基础，才不会导致英语越学越难、越学越差。先说说本学期英语学习的内容：
1、26个字母大小写，会说会写，并且在书写英文字母时会按正确的顺序书写；在小学英语的阶段掌握好26个字母的听说读写，这对孩子们今后所要接触的大量词汇的听说读写很重要。
2、课本后的单词表，每一个单词都很重要。这就要同学们回家去复习，消化这些单词。词汇是三年级考试的重要内容，一定要过关。
3、课文中的对话，日常交际用语。要求每个同学都会背，要求能熟练，流畅的读出来，说出来。
4、听力训练：在三年级试卷中听力题也占有相当的比重。所以说每天的听录音、跟读任务还是不容忽视的。
其实要学好英语，课上占40%，其余的60%还需要学生在课后不断的巩固，加深记忆。在课上老师更多的是教授新知识，当然课上也会有少量的时间巩固新学的知识。但是这些时间是公共的时间，而不是每个学生私有的时间，所以不可能照顾到每个学生，不可能让所有学生都达到相同的程度。况且每个学生对新知识的接受能力都是不同的，有的可能当堂就已经有很深的印象了，很难忘记，但这肯定是很少的。大部分学生都只能是初步接触了新知识，要真正接受新知识还要学生在课后多下功夫，不然肯定会和别的同学拉开差距，所以这也使英语成绩两极分化十分严重，无论是每次的听写小测试还是刚刚结束的期中考试，有的同学会得100分的好成绩，而有的同学只有三、四十分的成绩。所以请家长一定要从现在起重视孩子的英语学习，抓紧孩子的英语学习，要是三年级就落下了，到了五六年级再补是来不及的。
英语是一门特殊的学科，它缺乏语言环境，光靠学校几节课时间是远远不够的。在学校老师会尽最大的努力进行教学，但课余时间还需要广大家长大力配合，如：写单词、听录音、背诵等要靠家长多加督促。每课的单词是基础之基础，这样课堂上听写的时候正确率才能高，听课效率才能提高，否则，前面的内容没消化，后面进行的新课根本听不懂。所以我希望家长能够真正了解孩子在学校的英语学习情况，希望家长能多关注一下。
那么，怎样帮助孩子学好英语呢？在此，我只是真诚地呼吁我们的家长配合学校，配合老师，我们共同努力来帮助孩子学好英语。用一句话来说：我们要和孩子共同成长。因此我们要重视学生良好的学习习惯的培养。
1、让孩子多听录音
在少儿英语教学中，首先是加强听力训练和说话训练，然后才是读写能力的培养。听说能力差，用英语进行交际的能力也就差。因此要确保孩子每天听录音，跟读课文要读出声音，家长最好在旁监督，会更有效。有时学生可能会认为我已会背了,不需听磁带了，这是很不好的习惯，毕竟听磁带对学生听力能力的提高很有帮助。为此，家长一定要配合学校来要求孩子，要创造条件让孩子多听纯正的录音，听几遍、听清楚了以后，跟着说，尽量让孩子模仿录音中的发音。
2、让孩子大声说英语
让孩子大声读说英语，家长要每天留出20分钟左右时间让孩子读读英语，不管当天有无英语课。家长要鼓励孩子每天大声地朗读、对话、问答，大声说，不害羞，这样有利于清楚地表达自己，也有利于他人纠正自己的错误。另外，还请各位家长在家里督促孩子保质保量地完成英语作业，该读的.读、该说的说、该写的写、该记的记，及时巩固，养成良好的习惯。父母亲的良好榜样起着很大作用。孩子一般还没有明确的学习目的，这时，父母亲对学习的态度，特别是行为，会极大地影响孩子。千万不能纵容自己的孩子第一次说：英语好难，我默写不出来……就任由他去。你要让你的孩子知道：今天，你花大量时间去养成好习惯，明天，你就可以更好。今天，你偷懒了一会，你明天的作业就会更多。累积下来，你就是学习上欠债最多的人。
3、要认识英语单词和句子。以前往往在考试过后，会有家长反
应说自己的孩子还能把课文和单词都背出来，为什么还是没有考好，那我就问他，你都认识试卷上的单词和句子吗？他说不认识。所以我建议各位家长，要求孩子在读课文时，必须要看着书读，手指头一定要指着书上的句子或是单词，就跟孩子刚读一年级时认中文字一样，读哪个手就要指哪个，毕竟考试的时候试卷上出现的英文多，而对应的图片、中文少，所以在孩子认读单词、课文的时候，必须要孩子看英语单词、句子，并且心里要想它们的意思，而不是光看图片或只读不想，这样是绝对没有效果的。
4、每天检查孩子的回家作业是否完成，保证第二天能按时上交。
在这里我恳请每位家长认真督促孩子完成老师每天布Z的作业，主要是家庭作业。尤其是一开始，三年级英语刚刚接触书面作业，一定要严格要求他们的英语书写，写得不好的，家长也可以要求他们重新做，过关了才给他们签名（但是我几乎没见过在座家长的签名）。我想，老师之所以让家长在孩子的作业本上签字，也是希望通过这个途径让家长们了解孩子每天的学习情况，希望各位家长能够支持老师的工作，如果您有什么意见也可以写在作业本上，便于及时沟通。
5、开学以来，有些学生忘记带作业本，不带英语课本、练习册的现象还是经常发生，上课没有书，只能和同桌共看一本书，结果是一堂课下来，老师讲的知识没有学到多少，和同桌的感情却加深了不少，我希望家长能够每天按照课表提醒孩子收拾好书包，检查好明天要带的作业和课本，养成良好的学习习惯。
六、结语。

While witnessing the dramatic changes in the better-off society, people begin to reconsider the question of "survival". "Survival" in the old sense does not bother us anymore. Instead, we are more concerned about how to "survive" in the human world full of competition. Competition always carries abreast challenges and opportunities to everyone involved. It might appear in an entrance exam, in a regular class, or in a small public speech. Those who fail to detect its real nature-whether an opportunity or a challenge a competition really is- will lose something more or less conducive to our growth. Of course, if we take the competition as an opportunity, we will favor it intentionally because they can help us outstand from the average; they will make us become the focus of public attention; they will grant us more chances and rights to succeed. As a matter of fact, opportunities are supposed to be more perceptible and welcoming than challenges. The truth is, however, we will lose more opportunities when we choose to take the "opportunity" fork at the crossroads. The other fork, ignored by us and defined as "fearful challenges", offers much more chances for the walker in competition. We have such an inclination in life to overestimate ourselves and hold a thoughtless attitude towards the negative outlook of things. We believe in the old saying, "Opportunity knocks but just once," so we always welcome it and devote all our spirit and efforts to it. The most devout believer of this saying are the graduates. Why? There are quite a number of them who pay full attention to positions in big cities and are willing to flood into developed areas under any circumstances, even though there will be too much uncertainty for their choices. Innumerable cases go straight to the same miserable end: God seems to refuse to help too many of His worshipers. In conclusion, to define the quality of competition seems to be far from valuable sense, for no matter what a competition is, an opportunity or a challenge, it will create nutritious elements for our growth. 大家好，很荣幸今天有这样一次机会和大家一起切磋，共同探讨孩子的教育问题，我相信每位家长都有自己很丰富的、独到的有经验，我的做法也仅代表我个人，耽误大家宝贵的时间，请允许我跟大家交流一下我在家是怎样配合老师帮助孩子复习巩固英语的。
学习是孩子自己的事情，必须让他明白要学会自己对自己负责。我只起到引导、帮助和监督的作用，要求他长期坚持做到以下几点：
1、上新课前按老师要求进行预习。先熟悉课文内容，听几遍课文听力，听熟为止。生字词查阅词典，有不会的圈划出来，作为听课重点。
2、上了新课后放学回家，先让孩子把当时圈划的难点说明白，一是加深孩子印象，二是了解孩子上课是否专心听讲。然后要求熟读，读得很熟练了才背诵，然后默写。这一点要强调一下，一开始接触英语的时候，我就发现孩子存在会读会背但写出来出错的情况，因此，默写也很重要。
3、我会跟孩子用新学的句型造句或对话，进行巩固拓展，其中如果出现语法错误，我会及时提醒纠正。（因为我的发音很不标准，我会事先跟孩子说请忽略我糟糕的发音，你应该指出我发音错误，但不要受我影响。）
4、作业当天只检查是否做完，书写是否认真，不查对错。等第二天孩子拿了老师批注好的作业回来，我会检查对错情况，每一道错题都要求孩子自己分析错题，然后订正。这样做是为了让孩子体会到自己要对作业的正确率负责，今后听课更认真，作业更专心。
5、课外补充一些培养兴趣和语感的事。我家在城北，离学校比较远，路上不堵车也得二十五分钟左右，路上时间会让孩子听英语故事，一开始是比较简短的泡泡少儿英语故事，三年级开始听外语教学与研究出版社出版的轻松英语名作欣赏，里面都是些耳熟能详的故事，比如匹诺曹，丑小鸭，小飞侠等等，每一本都是经过改编整理成几十页的'小故事，内容有趣。兴趣的培养我觉得蛮重要的，因此，一开始不要给孩子压力，就每天听，坚持不懈，忽然有一天，你就发现他会复述了，而且是绘声绘色。这个时候，就可以跟孩子分角色来扮演故事里的人物，孩子会更来劲。当这一本能够进行课本剧表演了，才会给孩子买下一本来听，吊足孩子胃口。
6、考试前会提醒孩子复习，查漏补缺；考试后不纠结孩子的考试成绩。考得好，就跟孩子讲是前阵子的学习方法奏效了，学习态度很好，要保持；考得不理想，就跟孩子分析错误类型，商量解决办法，争取下次有进步。
最后，我觉得孩子的学习是长期的反复的行为，我能想到和做到的就是及时向老师了解孩子的课堂情况，针对孩子的个性特点，采取合适的方法，帮助孩子形成良好的学习习惯，培养学习兴趣，让孩子在英语学习路上走得既快乐又踏实。不足之处还请大家指正，也真诚地希望能和家长们成为朋友，一起分享孩子教育的苦与乐。
