Dear teacher and CLASSmates:
I am very glad to make a speech here in this CLASS again! This time, Id like to talk something about English.
I love English. English language is now used everywhere in the world. It has become the most common language on Internet and for international trade. Learning English makes me confident and brings me great pleasure.
When I was seven, my mother sent me to an English school. At there, I played games and sang English songs with other children . Then I discovered the beauty of the language, and began my colorful dream in the English world.
Everyday, I read English following the tapes. Sometimes, I watch English cartoons.
On the weekend, I often go to the English corner. By talking with different people there, I have made more and more friends as well as improved my oral English.
I hope I can travel around the world someday. I want to go to America to visit Washington Monument, because the president Washington is my idol. Of course, I want to go to London too, because England is where English language developed. If I can ride my bike in Cambridge university, I will be very happy.
I hope I can speak English with everyone in the world. Ill introduce China to them, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and Anshan.
I know, Rome was not built in a day. I believe that after continuous hard study, one day I can speak English.
The Dream Came True I wanna welcome everybody here in this cheer team. Thank you for coming here this morning to stand on my side cheering me on. It’s my dream to have the opportunity to challenge all the foreign athletes to the championship at this great occasion: 20xx Olympic Games. Now, the dream came true. As an athlete of China, I’m here to win the gold medal of orienteering for our motherland. I’m so proud of being one of the best players in the world. But could you believe I had been a lazy girl when I was in Junior High. I’m not kidding! At that time, running was my last favorite. I really don’t know how to describe the first time I was on the track. It was horrible. When I started to run, I was simply out of breath. And while I touched the finishing line, I really didn’t know if I was still alive. It’s so funny, huh? But it’s true, I did. Well, something happened and changed the situation. We won the right of holding the Olympic Games in 20xx. After that, sports became a kind of game in campus. And there are many sports clubs in school.
One day someone asked me:“are you gonna try one of those?”First I felt so wired. “Try to get into sports clubs? Are you kidding?” I said. And she goes: “Why not It’s not hard at all, and so fascinating!” So I did tried one and I was so lucky to become one of those who did orienteering. That is a fantastic sport! You need to run and find where to go just by using a map and a compass. It’s wasn’t popular in China at first. But when we heard it might become a new event in 20xx, we did practiced hard, and aimed to win the first Champion of orienteering in the world. When we practiced, there were a lot of troubles. You know, sometimes you need to go with your feet, but sometimes you need to go with your heart. In some situations, we faced the difficulties and problems. And we need to solve that through teamwork and strong willpower. So we can run faster, go higher and be stronger. That is what we say―Olympic spirit.
Now the dream came true. I’m standing here with all my body and my heart put in sports. So do the people from all over the world to HERE at the Olympic Games.
It is certainly unlucky for anyone to be stolen from. However, President Roosevelt had three reasons to be grateful. This story tells us we should learn to be grateful in our life. There is a sentence from Mahatma Gandhi:“Live as you were to die tomorrow, learn as you were to live forever. ” Great people are always showing their love to the world, just as Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Norman Bethune and so on. How about us?
You can not do everything, but still you can do something. So, be grateful to your life, all the people and things in your life.
Be grateful to the nature, for the fresh air you breathe, the clean water you drink, the beautiful flower you smell.
Be grateful to your parents, for they gave birth to you and taught you right from wrong.
Be grateful to your teachers, for they let you understand “what”,“how”and“why” with great patience.
Be grateful to your friends, for you have known each other since you were 9 or 10 and faced the difficulties together for so many years.
Mother Teresa once said:“People really need help, but may attack you if you help them. Help people anyway; Give the world the best you have and you may get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.” At last I want to say: being grateful can bring us a better and more beautiful life. Why don’t we have a try?let,s get it started! Be grateful to your lover, for he/she gave you love and helped you find the sun every time you were down.
Good morning teachers and fellow students. Today we would like to introduce a few favorite books to you.
My favorite book is(Italian: Cuore). This is a diary written by an Italian boy Enrico. The diary is about his life and study. It included various touching stories that happened around Enrico, the mottos taught by his parents, as well as the wonderful ten "monthly" stories told by his teacher during the class. Every word in the chapter describes the word "love". From patriotism to friendship, and to the love between parents and child -- really touching.
This novel taught me how to love, and how to learn from love. I really like this book very much. How about you? What is your favorite book?
My favorite book is. Have you read it before? Oh, I haven’t read this book before. What is it about?
Well, it is a story of a rich girl who maintained her noble character after the bankruptcy of her father. The story is happy ending. Can you tell us why you love this book so much?
Sure. It is because the story taught us to be brave and to face the challenges and difficulties with courage. I am deeply impressed by the strength and perseverance of the little princess in the story. I have decided to learn from her from now on.
Oh I see, the story sounds very good. I cannot wait to read this book as well.
hello! how’s it going? eh…this time i want to talk about the spring festival.
you must hear about this festival many times though you are not chinese, because the spring festival is one of the oldest festival in china and every time when you ask a foreigner “what do you know about chinese culture?” majority of them might answer “the spring festival!”. for chinese, that’s true the spring festival is a traditional and important festival. so let me introduce something about it.
there are some key points of it. “new year’s eve” ”poetic couplet” “paper-cuts” “do spring festival shopping” “propose a toast” “fireworks” “red packets” “give new year’s greetings” and so on. following is more clearly.
days before the new year
on the days before the new year celebration, chinese families give their home a thorough cleaning. it is believed the cleaning sweeps away bad luck and makes their homes ready for good luck to arrive. all brooms and dust pans are put away on new year's eve so that good luck cannot be swept away. some people give their homes, doors and windowpanes a new coat of red paint. homes are decorated with paper cutouts of chinese auspicious phrases and couplets (short phrases) that speak of "happiness," "wealth," "longevity."
reunion dinner
a reunion dinner is held on new year's eve where members of the family, near and far, get together for celebration. the new year's eve dinner is very large and traditionally includes chicken. fish, but not eaten up completely (and the remainder is stored overnight), as the chinese phrase (nián nián yǒu yú), which means "may there be surpluses every year", sounds the same as "may there be fish every year", since "yú" is also the pronunciation for "yú" ("leftover" or "surplus").
money given to children
on the night of new year’s eve or the first day of new years, just after the big dinner when people are gathered for talk, relatives usually put "yā suì qián" or "end of year money" in the red packets. that’s what kids all love. and at the same time kids should give new year’s greetings like “happy new year!” “live a happy life!”
the spring festival is more than what i told you. and sometimes i just think of it as a holiday. hope to hear from you.
