Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, it’s a great honor to speak here: I am an English teacher.

People often say: Teacher is the engineer of human spirit.

Last September, I became a teacher.

How to become a real teacher? This is the first difficulty that I come across in my career.

At first, I felt so good and fun to stay with so many lovely students, then I integrated with them, and soon, the problem came out.

If a teacher can’t set up her dignity in front of the students, it will make the class teaching more difficult.

In my lessons, the students often kept on talking, acting, and asking questions.

What should I do? I can’t get along with them like this any more.

I must be strict with them.

Pay more attention to what should be praised, what should be criticized.

Any carelessness is not permitted.

At last, the class discipline became better.

Nowadays, the importance of learning English is obvious.

The world becomes globalization and unify.

The association of each country is closer and closer.

People call the earth as a global village.

English is the first current language in the international world.

The communication of politics, economy and culture is upon English.

As we know, we will take a beating if we lay behind.

How to catch up with the world? That is, study English well to gain the first hand data.

The entrance of WTO, the Olympic Games which will be held in 2008, shows that we must learn English well as quickly as possible.

Forcing study won’t stay in the heart, feeding knowledge into the brain won’t get a good result, and high mark isn’t our teaching goal.

To get a satisfied effect, we should make the students learn on their own initiative.

How to make them feel interested in studying English? I think the key point is the teaching design.

It must be vivid and vigorous.

We can change our study contents into games, performances, competitions and so on.

Let them believe English is easy and funny.

As the step of history is advancing, the demand of English teaching is changeable.

The junior students are not what we know as before.

They have a lot of knowledge, and are good at combining English with other subjects, such as history, geography, physics, chemistry and so on.

Their English level is higher than what we thought.

Many of them started learning English in their primary school.

So English teacher should pursue advanced studies constantly, and master the latest teaching materials and methods to meet today’s demands.

I feel very happy to be an English teacher.

I will do my best to teach English well with my knowledge, my patience and my enthusiasm.

Make Chinese speak English better, and show their ability and talent in the world stage.

我是本班的英语老师刘双,非常感谢各位能准时参加家长会。单从这点就可看出大家对子女教育问题的高度关注,这也是对孩子的一种尊重和鼓励。作为一名五年级学生的家长,想必您时常为孩子的学习问题操心;作为英语老师,我们也盼望着与您携手,与您交流,共同提高孩子的英语学习能力。

今年,进入了关键的五年级,每位同学和家长都能充分感受到五年级的英语学习压力。家长们留心注意会发现英语的课文由简单的对话变为较长篇幅的短文,单词较多,也有了更多的语法知识。五年级的英语学习,在整个小学阶段处于一个绝对的主导作用,对学生英语学习的要求发生了质的变化,也许您的孩子在三四年级的时候,英语学习不用花功夫,也能考40以上。但是现在如果孩子依然是只凭上课听听,回家不读不记,那么英语成绩将会出现下滑现象。学生们都是在同一起跑线上起跑的,经过五年来的英语学习,学生与学生之间已经拉开了差距。一些好的学生学习兴趣浓,学习劲头足,课堂上积极思维,踊跃发言,课后及时巩固,形成了良性循环的好势头。他们的学习习惯好,在听、说、读、写方面都能齐头并进,我为他们感到欣慰。可也有一些学生,平时学习马虎,基础不扎实,功亏一篑,导致他们现在课上听讲出现困难,作业拖拉不完成,背诵课文的作业根本不做,如此一来,学习自然成了件头痛事,麻烦事。

今天就借此机会让各位家长看一下孩子们的默写本,这些默写作业是每节课前五分钟必做环节,以此来检查孩子们对于上一节课的知识掌握情况。对于班上大部分孩子,默写本上基本会出现一至三处的错误,希望家长们能从中找出孩子存在的不足,督促孩子制定今后的学习努力方向。本学期开学至今,班级的学习气氛很浓,英语成绩较之上学期又有了一定的进步。英语这门学科和语数不一样的地方在于它的灵活多变性,它的题型可以千变万化,但它的变化总是建立在一个不变的基础上的,那就是这些基础知识:单词,短语,句型。一旦基础的东西掌握了,不管它怎么变,万变不离其宗。接下来请各位家长和我一起看一下本次的英语期中测试

相信各位家长看了孩子们的英语默写本和期中试卷后一定能够发现他们在英语学习中存在的不足。我希望家长能了解孩子们的英语学习要求,从而帮助和指导自己的孩子在家有效开展英语学习,使孩子们能够在后半学习的学习中能取得最佳的成绩,以实现家长、孩子、老师三者共同的心愿。本学期的英语学习要求主要有以下三个方面:

1。默写的内容:书后单词表中蓝色单词、课文中老师要求划的短语、以及C、D部分的句型。

2。背诵的内容:每单元A部分课文,C、D部分句型,以及老师要求抄的笔记及每课的语法知识

3。要求练习的内容:《牛津小学英语练习与测试》和每天的家庭作业。

英语学习贵在坚持,听、说、读、写,四个方面缺一不可,课后的`复习和巩固尤为重要,所以希望家长在家中积极配合老师的英语教学,及时了解孩子的学习情况,督促孩子坚持每天读英语,按时完成老师布置的作业。在此我希望各位家长能做到以下两点:

1、家长定期检查孩子的作业本,特别是默写本,关心孩子的学习情况,并督促孩子及时改错。

2、每个周末家长定时复习笔记,英语笔记的内容是精华部分,是重要知识点,语法点。考试前读一读、认真复习,会有事半功倍的效果。

作为教师我们一定会尽最大的努力来教好每一位孩子,同时我们也真诚的希望能够得到您的支持和配合。我们每一位英语老师要带三个班的英语课,关注近180个孩子的英语学习,工作量是很大的,相比而言我们力量是微小的,有了您的加入,才能形成家校联合的强大力量。

Ladies and Gentlemen, It's an honor for me to be here to make a speech.. Hope you enjoy a wonderful time! First I want to say is here my topic, which is how to make my class active and interactive.

Actually , when I stepped to the 3-foot platform to be an English teacher , I tried my best to make my students practice the patterns time after time , I hoped that they would get high marks in test ver , my students didn't care about it , they showed less attention to my class.

Until one day, a student had a talk with me. He said : "I'm learning many things that are boring, useless and not valuable. So I'm tired of studying. Miss Ma , can you understand me"At that time, I felt my class was lack of active and interactive patterns.

Then I gradually found that make class active and interactive is from active learning to interactive teaching.

First , we should be energetic and encouraging use our passion can make class want to learn English, they will act with nature and show more potential abilities. Also,we should praise in various ways. In our class we often say "good, very good", the simple word not only make them active in class, but also foster their sense of achievement in future learing..

Secondly, we should make class meaningful and creative. In class, we can use the short and simple sentence, use the body language to communicate with students should give students clear purpose and offer them opportunities to try, to create and allow them to fail. Make sure the class relaxing and interactive, be familiar to the feeling of English language.

Coming up next is organizing games and activities know, activity is the key part of class. Including paired work, competitions, role play, guessing game, TPR activities, and so on. Whatever I use , I should often change the way. From students and I; student and student ;to students and students. Make all class.

The last but not the least is helping the class feel comfortable with asking me questions and answering my questions. To do this, do not criticize any questions from students will insure that students will continue to ask questions. Do give more chance to students ask and answer , make students and ourselves learn interactively. So after class students can listen, read, write, think without force and pressure, keeping interests and motivation .

Since I first steeped on my platform, I have decided to be a good and successful English teacher. However, in my class, when I gave lessons to my students, filled with enthusiasm and passion, some of the students always looked so tired and sleepy. When I spent much of my time preparing for my lessons, trying my best to make my lessons vivid and interesting, the teaching effect and feedback was not that I had expected. Moreover, when I was willing and eager to teach them all that I’ve learned, their abilities of English were still mediocre. I was looking for the reasons. And I was always asking myself: Am I good and successful? How can I be good and successful?

There were of course many complicated reasons and factors. And in my opinion, whether I am good or not, includes many factors such as my knowledge, my personality, my quality, my methods, teaching art and so on. Absolutely, to be a good and successful English teacher is not an easy job. I need to have an excellent command of English myself to make my students appreciate me and enjoy my class. I need to have the abilities to provide a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere and environment for the students’ study. I have to adopt efficient and various teaching methods to my students’ level. I need to develop my teaching art and skills. I should make full of each student’s ability and always encourage them to give them confidence. Therefore, “Live and learn” and “never too old to learn” have been the mottos I’ve adopted. I must improve my own abilities and skills of teaching, to keep up with the rapid development of our information age and society.

Is that enough for me to be good and successful now? No, that’s far from enough.

In spite of all the above aspects of good teaching is the primary and the most important requirement: love teaching and love my students.

I’ve learned to be the students’ teacher, their elder sister, their friend, their mother and so on. I show my care and love for them. Whenever they are in trouble, being sick, feeling blue or in a bad mood, I am the person that will try to take care of them, talk with them or try to help them balance themselves in good condition. I respect and trust them. When they fall in love with sb., quarrel with friends, cannot get along well with parents, etc. I’ll analyze the pros and cons, the advantages and disadvantages, and give them some opinions or suggestions. I sympathize with and understand them. When they break the rules or do something wrong carelessly, I will help them out of trouble instead of scolding them. I am always strict with them and also place high and enthusiastic hopes on them to make them be strict with themselves and be confident of themselves.

Everyone needs love. Love is one of the most magical and wonderful feelings in the world. Teachers’ love for their students can make the impossible become possible. The love can change the disvalued into valued. The love can win the students’ love and respect in return. The love can motive the students to work hard. The love can promote the students to better and better in many ways. The love can make the students open their heart to let us know what they are doing, what they are thinking about and how they are feeling.

Thank you for the warm welcome. It's an honor to be here today. I'm here on a mission. I have an important message. I'm convinced it will change your life. English is everywhere. English is a key to success. We must learn and master it.

So many of us study English like hell. So few of us can speak it well. What do you think is the reason? The problem is right here! The problem is remembering. The problem is that we forget what we learn.

Luckily , through years of research ,we've created a new way to learn . With this specially designed material and method, we can retain what we learn forever. It's called One Breath English.

What is One Breath English? Why shall we learn it, what it all about?

First, it's a breakthrough technique. It's easy to remember. It's designed to be memorized. Repeat nine lines like crazy. Speak as fast as you can. Say it within five seconds. It will become second nature. It will be ingrained in your memory. You will remember it for the rest of your life.

Second, the material is full of life. It's not boring book English. It's the core essence of daily American speech. The content is uplifting. It's considerate and polite. People will like what you say. You'll gain confidence. You'll communicate better. You'll become a better person.

Third, it's fun to learn. It's a five second test. It's just like playing a game. You challenge yourself. You race against the clock. You will improve every time you try. Speak English to yourself day and night. Speak English to everyone around you. It's fun to impress people.

Fourth, One Breath English is very healthy. It's a fountain of youth. It will make you become younger. What makes people grow old? It's anxiety, stress and loss of hope. Reciting English will curre these problems. Chant it over and over. Say it to yourself again and again. Your anxiety, depression and loneliness will all go away.

The bottom line is that One Breath English gets results. It's organized and systematic. This is a great discovery. It's totally revolutionary. It's unprecedented in language learning history. The English revolution is NOW! One Breath English is the way. Let's open our books and begin.

Hi! Judges and friends,

I’m very glad and excited that I have a chance like this to share my own experience of teaching with you.

The topic of my today’s lecture is Better to Teach a Man Fishing Than to Give Him a Fish ----Cultivating Good Studying Habits of Students In English Teaching.

School education is very important and useful. The students not only learn knowledge but also get an education. Yet, no one can learn everything at school. The scientists, such as Edison, Newton, Galileo and Einstein, did not learn everything at school. They learned a lot of knowledge outside school or practice by themselves. A teacher, even he knows a lot, can’t teach his students everything. Our job is to show our students how to learn, how to read and how to think. A good teacher with rich experience in teaching can teach his students the methods (ways) of study. Through these methods the students are able to learn and get a lot of things by themselves.

Since I became an English teacher over ten years ago, I have had a definite teaching thought: I teach my students not only English words and grammar but also methods of studying English by making full use of teaching materials so as to enable them to develop good studying habits bit by bit.

Then, what are good studying habits of students? In my opinion, they should include the following at least: the habit of previewing actively before class; the habit of listening intensively in class; the habit of reviewing carefully after class; the habit of completing homework independently; the habit of thinking deeply and actively; the habit of making notes during reading out of class; and good habits of reading aloud, memorizing, reciting, etc. Those habits should contribute to assimilating English knowledge they have learned into their own ones, and promoting their abilities of listening, speaking, reading, and writing all round. So, as English teachers, we must be good at cultivating good studying interest of students, enable them to develop good studying habits and make English studying continue for their life.

The first is how to preview before class. I call for my students to preview well before class which will be learned next class. For new words and phrases in text, students should not only practice spelling but also understand their meanings according to sentences and context. For texts and dialogues, students may understand them through the use of notes, reference books or dictionaries at hand, searching topic paragraph or sentence, then try doing exercises after class. Of all these can help them to find problems or questions as well as master the points that are important and difficult in text, which might lighten the pressure of students in new classes. This is a kind of good studying habit and of method available of training the ability to teach themselves. We should call for our students to last for practicing in a consistent way. In doing so, good studying habits can be developed ultimately.

The second is how to listen to class. Teachers should make students develop good habits of concentrating on listening to class and questioning actively in class. Only if listening to class in earnest, can students settle questions found when they previewed before class; only if raising doubts actively, can they develop abilities of thinking independently and innovating boldly. Mr. Ye Shengtao once said, “A man should raise doubts when reading books, and settle doubts when running into them.” Aristotle also said, “ Doubts and curiosity precede thoughts.” And Li Zhengdao holds the similar idea, “To quest knowledge edge demands learning and questioning; to learn the answer is not the substance of knowledge.” So we can see, it is important to question actively and raise doubts boldly for studying. This is like sunshine and rain to the trees, little trees cannot grow into big ones without them. Therefore, whether in class or after class, we should actively encourage students to question, to raise doubts, to have discussion, stimulate them to analyze questions and to seek approaches to settle them, and cultivate their spirits of thinking independently and innovating boldly.

The third is how to review and summarize. I always call for my students to go over what they have learned that day so as to have deeper impressions of the key contents, just like to see the film in their brains. It is very useful to strengthen the memory and the knowledge they have learned. Besides, after a week or a month, students should summarize the related knowledge, homework and analyze papers. This is also good habit of studying. Only in this way, can the learned knowledge be completed. It is of great help to get different thinking abilities for students.

The fourth is attitudes towards homework of students. Good attitudes towards homework should involve writing it earnestly and normally, and completing it independently during a definite period. We should consider the homework after reading and amending, not only find the mistakes, including the spelling mistakes, but also analyze the reasons. I also together my students set up archives for mistakes and sum up all different types in order not to make the same mistakes during studying. Keeping on doing as that until they form a habit. It can not only improve the students’ practical English level, but also help them to analyze and solve the problems.

Besides that, reading and reciting is one of the effective methods to English studying. As we all know, reading is a way to input the information. During the reading, the movements of mouth and tongue can be reflected in brain and become mechanical memory, which is very useful to memorize the words and expressions. In this way, we can not only train the instinctive feel for the language of the students, but also increase the process of turning the language accumulation into the language application. This is just the goal for input. So in my English teaching, I often guide the reading and reciting to make the students have good memorial habit and develop their abilities to read and write.

Finally, I’d like to talk about how to form the habit of writing reading notes after class. We all know that writing is also one of the most important and basic abilities during studying English. So, Every week I choose five to ten English passages for the students to read and write down some notes by themselves. I check their notes at any time. The passages can be different kinds from the newspaper , Internet and other ways. Sometimes, the students also share some excellent articles they think with each other. Doing like that is helpful to enlarge the words and phrases, enrich the knowledge and develop the ability of using English. The old proletarian educator, Mr. Xu Teli said, “The good memory is not useful as the nib, you don’t know how to read if you never write.” He pointed out the method of reading and emphasizes the importance of writing notes. So besides having the habit to write down the notes in classes, the students should form the habit to write notes when they are reading. I tell the students to write down the particular usage of some words, quote some instructive sayings, well-known sayings and the opinions of themselves during reading. It can widen their outlook, practice the ability to make sentences and improve the whole level of using English. So we can see that it is far away that the students only have the interest to learn English, the important point is the students have reading method and good habit to use their brains and hands.

In a word, good habit is the most important factor to get success in English studying, we must pay much attention to training the students to form the good learning habits. The old saying is: “Give a fish to others, that is just for a meal; but if we teach them hoe to fish, that is for their whole lives.” We should the students how to learn English and how to analyze the problems, make them form good learning habits and have the ability to learn new knowledge during teaching. It is useful for the students to become the creative talents, who have creative character and spirit and have firm foundation for entering the colorful society.
